Configure Outlook for Access to Ipera Exchange Hosting

This document will assist you in configuring your Microsoft Outlook client to connect to an Ipera Managed Exchange service If you have subscribed to Ipera Communications Premium Web and Outlook Access you can access your account via the Outlook client software on your computer. The key advantage of the client over web access is that it integrates seamlessly with other Microsoft Office products. If, for example, you have created a Word document and you need to forward it for review, you can simply click on File, SendTo and Word will automatically open up your Outlook client and attach the document ready for you to send 1. Navigate to the Windows Control Panel by clicking Start, Settings, Control Panel
2. Double click the Mail icon
3. Select Show Profiles
4. Click "Prompt for a profile to be used" (Not selected in the image above), then select Add Profile.
5. Enter a profile name, this name can be the same as your Managed Exchange username and is used to help identify the profile at a later time
6. Click "Manually configure server settings or additional server types
7. Select Microsoft Exchange and click Next
8. Enter the ex1.incasp.com.au and your username@yourdomain.com.au as supplied to you by Ipera Communications during account singup, before continuing click More Settings. NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT CLICK "CHECK NAME" OR SELECT "USE CACHED EXCHANGE MODE".
9. From within the More Settings window, select the Connections tab 10. Select and tick the checkbox marked 'Connect to my Exchange Mailbox over HTTP' then click the Exchange Proxy Settings button
11. Within the field marked HTTP enter outlook.ipera.com.au and select and tick both the Connect using SSL and Mutually Authenticate options 12. Enter msstd:outlook.ipera.com.au and close this window by clicking OK 13. Close the More Settings window, you will be returned to the Add Mail Account window, select Check Name. This step will test the account configuration and attempt to connect to your Managed Exchange service 14. You will be prompted to enter your Username and Password. Enter these details as they were provided to you during account signup. Check "Save Password"
15. Select Finish to complete the configuration. This completes the steps required to configure your Email client.
Note: Outlook may prompt you for your username and password at startup. This can be fixed by running this file. Use of this fix is at your own risk. Document Actions |
