How do I access quarantined/blocked e-mails?

— filed under:

  • If you haven't already, you will need to create a PureMessage account - takes approximately 30 seconds. Point your browser to avs.ipera.net.au, click the link indicating that you don't have a password. Enter your e-mail, and a login and password will be automatically e-mailed to your account within a few minutes. The e-mail will contain a link back to the login page. If you ever forget your password, you can go through this process again and have one sent out.

  • Now that you have created a PureMessage account you can log in and review blocked e-mails. You should be presented with a screen similar to one below. Note:  Your quarantine will most likely contain high offensive material as well as scams and other fraudulent information that you should try to ignore as you search for the message you feel may have been blocked in error. You can sort the mail by clicking on the Score,  From,  Subject, and Date headings. You can move though the mail a page at a time using the control at the top right of the page.

  • You can also view a list of your approved senders. This list, also known as a 'white-list', allows you to nominate certain e-mail addresses or even whole domains that PureMessage should forward directly to you without checking.

  • Your list of blocked senders contains addresses that you wish to filter automatically. This is handy if you receive regular unsolicited e-mail from one particular e-mail address or domain. The instructions on the page also describe how to use wildcards to more effectively filter your mail.

  • The Options menu allows you to disable spam filtering, opt to receive a regular e-mail containing summary information on spam e-mail that has been automatically filtered from your mailbox, and increase the quarantine period.
